In writing this term we have been creating news reports. It’s related to our Inquiry unit, which is a travel expo on a country of your group's choice. Our writing project is a news report about our chosen country, complete with an anchor, current news reporter, sports reporter and weather reporter. Last week and the week before we were planning and this week we started filming. Our expo is in Week 11 where we are showcasing our website, news report and newspaper. When asked what they liked about the writing project, Grace M and Phoebe H said “ We like this writing project because we get to research and we get to do more than we usually do in writing.”

Maths:

In year six maths we have been learning how to identify number patterns and fill in the missing numbers in the patterns and learn the rule of the pattern and use the rule to continue the pattern “I really enjoyed doing the flowcharts where you got to customize it and the itinerary” said Frankie a year 6 student

Reading:

Inferencing is when you take words, clues and important information from the text and make an educated guess. You use your knowledge to help understand what’s really happening in text. Spencer says “Inferencing is a great way to express your thinking by using your prior knowledge and using clues from a text. It could also be useful in real life.”
