Message from our School Council

At their recent meeting, the School Council discussed ways to communicate their work with the broader school community. As a result, they have introduced their 'Top 5' message, which will be available through our social media channels as well as our College newsletter.
Here is our School Council's first 'Top 5' message:
As part of the Building and Grounds subcommittee report, we had the opportunity to watch a video produced by the architects involved in our Capital Works Program. It was exciting to get a glimpse of the new classrooms with their modern features, the upgraded woodwork spaces, and the beautifully planned landscaping. It’s going to be wonderful to see these plans coming to life!
From the Camps & High Adventure subcommittee report, we endorsed a fantastic lineup of upcoming camps and excursions. These include the Great Ocean Walk camp, a surfing excursion, the Cathedral Ranges hike camp, rock climbing, paddle boarding, and the Rubicon Leadership Camp. Each one sounds like an amazing opportunity for our students to learn and grow beyond the classroom.
This meeting, we welcomed Asher Stone, who delivered the SRC report with impressive professionalism and detail. The SRC is involved in so many meaningful initiatives - from the Rubicon Leadership Camp and Reconciliation Week, to World Refugee Week, Pride Month, and an International Women’s Day mural. A special mention to their IDAHOBIT Day efforts, which reached into the local community and received great feedback. Their leadership is truly impressive!
Aaron Smith presented the mid-year progress report for our Annual Implementation Plan (AIP). Overall, the school is tracking very positively - most areas are on target, a few are slightly ahead, and only one is a little behind. At this stage of the year, this is right where we’d expect to be. As parents, it’s really valuable to see such clear, real-time updates on how we’re progressing toward our goals.
We were pleased to host a guest parent at this month’s meeting, who by the end of the night had confidently nominated to join us as a parent member. It’s great to have this vacancy filled, and we look forward to formally welcoming her once the paperwork is complete.
Thank you for reading our first School Council ‘Top 5’ message!
We’re excited to share key highlights from our recent meeting and keep you informed about what’s happening across our fantastic school community.
Stay tuned for more updates to come!
