Sistine Chapel Exhibition Excursion Stage 3

On Monday, we had a thrilling opportunity to step inside Michelangelo’s world of art, when we went into the Sistine Chapel Revelations Exhibition. For me, it was an exciting experience; one that we don’t have often, and one that could be classified as one of the most eye catching excursions I have ever been on. Before this exhibition, I never thought about what each picture meant, or about its significance. But now I realise that each intricate painting has the power to show divine emotion, humanity and faith, and to connect us to centuries of work.

One painting that really stood out to me was the separation of light and darkness. It was amazing to see a fracture of time, frozen and portrayed in art. This specific image holds the first promises of God, showing us how faith can be packed into a single, powerful moment. It shows us how light and darkness are completely different, but they rely on each other, like magnets. In conclusion, this was a valuable experience, and it shows Michaelangelo’s hard work to show how faith can be seen everyday in art.
