Child safety and wellbeing at Camelot Rise Primary School
Our school is committed to providing an environment where students are safe and feel safe.
Our child safety framework Camelot Rise Primary | Glen Waverley | Policies explains how we support and maintain child safety and wellbeing at Camelot Rise Primary School. It includes our:
- Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy
- Child abuse (including grooming) – identification and response, and
- Child Safety Code of Conduct, which outlines acceptable and unacceptable behaviours for all staff and volunteers at our school.
Some areas of our recent focus include:
· Completing our annual staff training which covers the guidelines and expectations in relation to child safety in the school environment
· Reviewing our private music tuition practices to confirm safe practices
· Clear messaging to students about appropriate physical contact at school. For example, replacing hugs with high 5s or fist pumps is an effective way to ensure everybody’s personal space is respected.
Our students and families are important partners in this process and we welcome your feedback on ways we can improve our approach to child safety and wellbeing.
