The Wheelers Hill Primary Art Show is coming...  can you help?

2026 WHEELERS HILL PRIMARY ART SHOW

CELEBRATING THE ART FOR ALL SEASONS

On Thursday, 10 September, the students and families of Wheelers Hill Primary will come together to celebrate arts and our annual fundraiser, the Wheelers Hill Primary Art Show

WHPS is a vibrant community of over 680 students, parents, and families who will attend the Art Show.

The theme of the Art Show is “Art for All Seasons,” celebrating artwork inspired by the beauty and colours of the four seasons.

Every student from Prep to Grade 6 will create their unique artwork, and classes will create a collaborative art canvas focusing on the theme of the Art of Storytelling.  Parents and families will attend the Art Show evening to view students’ artworks and support the school by purchasing raffle tickets and special items created for the event.

In addition to showcasing student artwork to the school community, we will hold fundraising events in the evening:

  • Raffle
  • Classroom canvas auctions
  • Sales of school-made products from house mascots and mini framed canvas pictures.
  • Student Quiz/competition and prizes

We are seeking donations of goods and vouchers that we can use as raffle and student prizes

We are seeking donations of items or vouchers to be included in the raffle hamper:

  1. Vouchers - that families can redeem for goods or services (vouchers to be valid for a min of 6 months).
  2. Major - raffle prize (valued over $250+).
  3. Donation of raffle hamper items - we will use the items to add to our popular raffle hamper or door prizes on the night.

* Please note we are unable to accept secondhand or used items, and donations delivered to the school.

All donors will be recognised on the evening, and in the school newsletter (published online on the web).

Our aim is to obtain a variety of items for the hampers. If you can assist us, please contact us via the Google Form below, and we will be in contact.

Parent Helpers & Volunteers

We appreciate the families who volunteer at WHPS, including classroom helpers, School Council members, and those who assist with excursions and fundraising.  To volunteer at WHPS, you must have a Valid Working with Children Card.  Cards are free and mandatory if you are to volunteer.

When you volunteer at school or assist at an excursion:

  • Each time you volunteer, you must:
    • Always have your WWC in your possession.
    • Sign in at the Compass Kiosk as a visitor and enter your WWC card number.
    • Wear a visitor lanyard at all times.
  • Without a valid card, you are not permitted to volunteer.  Please note that a receipt for your WWC card application is not acceptable (it shows proof of purchase, not that you hold a valid card).

How to apply for a Working With Children Card (Volunteer):

Cards can be applied for via the following link: Services Vic.

  • Volunteer cards are free.
  • It takes 6-12 weeks for a card to be issued.

For more information on the Working with Children Card and applications, please visit: Home | Working with Children.

When your child/children are late for School:

A reminder that it is the parent/carer's responsibility to sign students in at school after the morning bell (students cannot sign in).

When late, the parent will sign in at the Compass kiosk in the office.

  • You will be asked for a reason for being late.
  • The kiosk will state the reason for lateness and notify the Teacher that the student is on the way to the classroom.

Early Student Collection (prior to 3:15 pm)

Compass Attendance Note

  • Add a Compass note for each student with the pickup time and reason.

Sign Students out at the School Office

  • Parents must sign students out at the office on the Compass Kiosk.
  • Time permitting, we will call the classroom and request the student to come to the office for parent pickup.

Students are actively learning until 3:30 pm each day. Often, in the last 30 minutes, students finish their work, and teachers wrap up the day of learning.

We suggest you allow 5-10 minutes for early student collection. With 700 students in various locations and activities around the school, please allow a minimum of 5-10 minutes for the student to be located, finish their activity, get their bag and come to the office for parent pickup.

To avoid classroom interruptions and due to a large number of student pickups and changes to end-of-day arrangements, from 3:15, parents will need to sign students out and may need to go directly to the classroom.

General Office Hours

Students on school grounds are only supervised until the 3:45 pm bell. After this time, the school is closed as staff attend meetings and other duties. The School Office closes at 4 pm each day, and staff are unable to supervise children.

At the 3:45 pm bell, any student who is still on school grounds or at Kiss n Go locations will be directed to the School Office, and parents will be contacted.  The school will contact parents and emergency contacts by phone and SMS to arrange urgent collection by 4 pm.

We recommend that you register your childn/ren with the OSHC program.  It's free to register and useful for days you may be late.
