Welcome Back

Welcome back to Term 3!

I trust all families have had a safe and relaxing holidays break.

As always, this term will another busy one. Along with our usual teaching and learning programs we have the art show planned later in term, the State School Spectacular Performance, both Year 3/4 and 5/6 Athletics carnivals, Book Week, Footy Day and the ICAS competitions.

Looking into Term 4 we will have the Year 6 mini-fete as well as the 50th Anniversary Celebration on the 13th November.

NAPLAN Results

The 2026 NAPLAN results were made available last week and students in Year 3 and 5 have taken home their results.

A summary of the results are below. Both Year 3 and 5 students have continued to demonstrate outstanding results, well done to you all.

These results also reflect the committed efforts of our teachers and the high quality teaching and learning and programs at Wheelers Hill Primary School. We are also grateful for the support of our parents as well. Congratulations to the whole teaching and learning community.

AEU Action

On Thursday, 23 July, many of our staff participated in industrial action relating to pay and conditions for Victorian government school employees. As a result, school operations were different on the day, with significantly reduced student attendance.

I would like to sincerely thank our parents and families for their understanding and support throughout the ongoing industrial action. Your flexibility and cooperation are greatly appreciated.

At this stage, an agreement has not yet been reached, and it is possible that further industrial action may occur. We will continue to keep families informed of any developments and provide updates as soon as information becomes available.

Thank you again for your continued understanding and support.

New Gates

Over the holidays we have some new gates installed in the breezeway areas of the A and B blocks. Along with keeping the school safe out of hours, these gates have freshened up and modernised this area of the school.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Our first round of Parent/Teacher Interviews took place earlier this week, with the second session scheduled for next week.

Thank you to all parents and carers who have taken the time to meet with their child's teacher to discuss their Semester 1 report, celebrate their achievements, and learn more about their areas for future learning and growth.
