Maths Explorer Superstars

APSMO Maths Explorer Program
This year, a 30 students from Years 3 and 4 took part in the APSMO Maths Explorer Program — an engaging and challenging problem-solving experience designed especially for primary-aged learners. The program introduces students to rich mathematical investigations that encourage flexible thinking, persistence, teamwork and creativity. Each weekly challenge invites students to explore multiple strategies, justify their thinking, and develop collaboration skills as mathematicians.
The Maths Explorer Program also acts as an excellent stepping stone to APSMO’s well-known Maths Olympiad, which we run in Years 5 and 6. By building students’ familiarity with non-routine problems, strengthening their reasoning skills, and helping them practise explaining their solutions clearly, the program prepares them for the style and rigour of the Olympiad in later years.
On behalf of the whole school, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to all the students listed below who participated in this year’s program. Their enthusiasm, curiosity and willingness to tackle tricky problems was wonderful to see. I am incredibly proud of the way they represented our school value of being motivated and embraced each challenge with determination and positivity.
