Dear Families, Students and Community Members,

And just like that, we’re approaching Week 5 and almost halfway through Term 4! This term is always an important and action-packed time in the school year, filled with exams, celebration days, Headstart, and plenty of sunshine and positive energy around the College.

Our VCE Unit 3 and 4 exams are now in full swing. After months of preparation and dedication, it was wonderful to see many smiles of relief and pride as students completed their first exams this week. We are incredibly proud of their focus, hard work, and resilience. To support our students during this important period, sections of the school have been carefully closed off to create a quiet and calm environment that allows them to perform at their best. We wish all our Year 12 students the very best as they continue their exams over the coming weeks.

Looking ahead, our Year 10 and 11 students will also begin their exam period in Week 6. These exams provide an important opportunity for students to consolidate their learning and gain valuable experience in formal assessment settings, helping them prepare for the rigours of VCE study. Teachers will continue to guide and support students as they revise key content and skills.

Meanwhile, our Junior School and Student Services teams are busy reviewing enrolments for our 2026 Year 7 cohort. It’s always a special time to welcome the next generation of Mordialloc College students! Last week, we hosted a very successful online Q&A evening for prospective families. The session gave parents and students the chance to ask questions about starting secondary school, learn more about our programs and supports, and hear directly from staff about what makes our school community unique. We thank all families who joined us and look forward to meeting our new students in person at the upcoming Year 7 Orientation Day. Some students will also participate in extra transition sessions to ensure they feel confident and comfortable as they begin this exciting next chapter.

The Junior School team is also eagerly anticipating their end-of-year celebration on Thursday 20th November — our annual excursion to Gumbuya World! This much-loved tradition is a highlight for both students and staff, offering a fun and memorable way to celebrate the end of a busy and successful school year. We are sure it will be a day filled with laughter, friendship, and plenty of summer sunshine.

The Middle School is looking forward to their celebration day later in the year.

As the weather warms up, a friendly reminder that Term 4 is our sun-smart term. We encourage all students to wear hats, apply sunscreen, and stay hydrated when outdoors. You can read our Sun Protection Policy here: Sun Protection Policy.

With the Melbourne Cup holiday fast approaching, we hope everyone finds some time to relax and enjoy a well-deserved break with family and friends.

Thank you to all our staff, students, and families for your ongoing support and commitment as we head into the final weeks of the school year. There is much to look forward to as we celebrate the achievements, growth, and efforts of our students across all year levels.
