Grade 6 fully submerged in history at Holbrook on the way to Canberra
We’re now midway through the term, and it’s been wonderful to see our students continuing to approach their learning with focus and determination. At this time of year, you may notice a little fatigue—particularly in our junior classes—which is completely normal as students juggle busy school days, friendships, learning routines, extra-curricular activities and growing bodies.
It has certainly been an eventful fortnight in the world of sport. Congratulations to Vivi and Lucy W on their outstanding efforts at State Athletics—we are so proud of you both.

Our Year 5/6 students enjoyed a fantastic Lacrosse Tournament, and we extend our thanks to Josh Ancrum for his organisation and support.

Year 4/5 students have also been out and about completing Bike Education; thank you to Kirsten Braun for leading this important program.

A special congratulations to our Grade 3 students for their thoughtful and respectful Remembrance Day assembly this week. Students read a book Charlie's War by Vicki Bennett and Debbie Taylor Worley, recited the poem In Flanders Fields, and embodied our school value of respect throughout.

Grade 5 Leaders

Well done to our Grade 5 students who led the assembly in the absence of our school captains. Our SRC did a fantastic job sharing our agreed expectations when we show respect at whole school events like assembly:

These expected behaviours were co-created by our SRC.
Well done to our Grade 2s on their night away from home last week at our Grade 2 sleepover, and to our Grade 6s, who are having a memorable time on camp in Canberra and are due to return on Thursday afternoon—please keep an eye on Compass for updates.

Miia (2CP) "The sleepover was really fun. We got to make Milo and we got popcorn and watched a movie. I slept inside in the prep rooms. I slept next to the whiteboard. At the start I was nervous and I couldn't fall asleep but then I felt more comfortable and I fell asleep."
Our Attitudes to School Survey data has again shown strong results, with the annual Department survey completed by Grade 4-6 earlier in the year. Of particular note are the high expectations for success, differentiated learning challenge and effective classroom behaviour – all areas that have been a focus at a whole school level in terms of our ability to stretch and cater for student needs by being adaptive teachers; and in our establishment of shared expected behaviours, routines and classroom procedures.

BBPS Staff completed their bi-annual anaphylxis training on our Professional Practice Day on Mon Nov 3.
