Assembly
Monday 17 November
Next week we will be holding a Walpole Assembly for our Years 3-6 students in The Farrall Centre commencing at 2.15pm on Monday afternoon. We welcome families to attend. Please remember that due to privacy concerns and to respect the photo permission choices of other families we ask you to refrain from taking photos and videos during assemblies.
Year 7 2026 - Information Evening
Tuesday 25 November
There will be an Information Evening on Tuesday 25 November for parents, guardians and students, commencing Year 7 in 2026. The evening will run from 7.00pm until 8.30pm and will be held in The Farrall Centre.
This is a valuable opportunity to learn more about our Year 7 and the Middle School program, to meet key staff members and other parents. Presentations will include information about the curricular and co-curricular programs, pastoral care structure and what to expect as a student in the Middle School.
Years 5 and 6 Growing Up Program
Monday 17 - Friday 21 November
Growing Up – a relationships, sexuality and protective behaviours program, will be run by Family Planning Tasmania for our Years 5 and 6 students starting on Monday 17 November. There will be a parent information session for Years 5 and 6 parents on Monday 17 November at 8.30am - 9.00am in the Primary School Library. Year 2 Outdoor Education Excursion - Snug Beach
Tuesday 25 November
On Tuesday 25 November, Year 2 will travel to Snug Beach by bus with their class teachers and Outdoor Education Teacher, Emily Ardas. Students will be exploring how Tasmanian Aboriginal people connect to Sea Country. We will depart school at 9.30am and will be returning to school by the end of the school day. Students need to come dressed in their sports uniform, including a sunhat and waterproof raincoat. They should bring a big lunch, lots of snacks and a full water bottle. Please update student Operoo profiles before the excursion.
Year 6 Camp at South Arm
Thursday 27 to Friday 28 November 2025
On Thursday 27 November, Year 6 will be attending their annual camp at South Arm. This camp is focussing on utilising camp-based skills and collective resilience to overcome challenges, foster strong teamwork, and thrive independently in an outdoor environment. They will depart school on Thursday morning at 9.00am and return by 2.30pm on Friday 28 November. Students may be collected from the drive through on Friday from 2.40pm. Further information about camp, including a packing list has been provided to parents through Operoo. If you have any questions please contact your child’s teacher.
Prep Art Exhibition
Wednesday 26 November
We are very pleased to invite our families and friends to the Prep Art Exhibition 2025. The Exhibition will take place in The Farrall Centre on Wednesday 26 November from 2.30pm - 3.15pm, we hope you are able to join us. Parents, could you please meet your child in The Farrall Centre prior to the Opening and they will guide you around the Exhibition.
Kindergarten to Year 2 Sports Day
Friday 28 November
The Kindergarten to Year 2 Sports Day will be held on Friday 28 November on the school's bottom green from 12.00pm - 1.30pm. Parents and families are welcome to attend. Children are to wear their sports uniform and ensure they have their hat and a water bottle for the event.
We will have a coffee van onsite, with a program being emailed to parents shortly. Any further questions please contact Allyce Winton.
Primary Schools Triathlon Challenge
Friday 28 November
Year 5 students have the option to enter the Primary Schools Triathlon Challenge which is to be held on Friday 28 November at Bellerive Beach. Students involved will travel by bus to and from the venue. More information will come home in due course. Any enquiries please contact Lisa Di Venuto.
Primary Music Showcase
Tuesday 18 November
Please join us in The Farrall Centre at 6pm for our Primary Music Showcase, featuring our primary instrumental and vocal ensembles. It will be an evening to enjoy the result of all the hard work our primary students and music staff put in each and every week.
Entry is free and all are welcome.
Absentees
If your child will be absent from school for the day please advise the Primary School Office (phone: 6210 2228, or email: primaryschooloffice@friends.tas.edu.au) and the classroom teacher before 8.45am. We appreciate your support in this process.
