YEAR 2

FROM THE CLASSROOM

We have started learning our toolkits to assist us in great narrative writing. We have learned to give nouns names and make them proper nouns! We have also learned how to write using powerful adjectives. The students were very excited to survey each other in Inquiry about places in the community we visit. They enjoyed asking questions and collecting the data.

READING

• We are learning to understand new vocabulary, main idea and summarising when reading a text.

• We are learning to innovate our narrative text with a focus on setting.

MATHS

• We are learning to compare and measure length, mass and capacity.

INQUIRY

• We are learning to identify the features in our community and who is responsible for maintaining our community.

WELLBEING

• We are learning to understand how we can be resilient in different situations. 

REMINDERS

We are focusing on showing respect in the yard. We are encouraging students to use kind words, be aware of their body when moving through spaces and keeping their hands and feet to themselves. Could you please talk with your children about how to show respect in the yard at school.

BULLYING

This term gets thrown around regularly, but do you know the actual definition?

Bullying is when someone intentionally and repeatedly uses their power to hurt, threaten, or upset another person, making them feel small, scared, or unsafe.
