Principal Team Updates
from everyone's desk.
Further to Jess' School Council President's acknowledgement, this week is an opportunity to recognise and thank the many people who generously give their time to support our school community. This yearâs theme, âYour Year to Volunteerâ, celebrates the important role volunteers play in strengthening communities.
Â
At Croydon Hills Primary School, we are fortunate to have volunteers contributing in so many ways â from our School Council, who met last night as the schoolâs governance group, to our dedicated CHAPS parentsâ association, who fundraise, organise events such as the Colour Run and Trivia Night, and run valued stand-alones like the Motherâs Day Stall. We also thank the many parents and carers who support classroom programs, reading, Performing Arts and events such as the Art Show.

At Croydon Hills Primary School, our values of Respect, Excellence, Responsibility and Resilience are regularly demonstrated by students both in and beyond the classroom. Recently, we have seen these values on display through some outstanding sporting achievements.
Â
Congratulations to our District Cross Country team, who demonstrated great resilience, encouragement and sportsmanship, finishing 1st overall and winning the District Shield (for the third time in four years). We also congratulate those students progressing through to the Division event at Yarra Glen Racecourse on Tuesday 2nd June. Read more in the PE News section of this newsletter.
Â
We are also thrilled to celebrate four senior boys who have been selected in the School Sport Victoria Team Vic Boys Netball Team and will represent Victoria at the National Championships in Darwin later this year â Lucas N (6LD), Ben B (6KF), Jaxon R (6RT) and Josh M (5JK). An outstanding achievement!
Â
In further exciting news, two of our former students, Jayden F and Sully S, have been selected in the School Sport Victoria Under 14 Boys AFL State Team.
Â
These achievements reflect the strong sporting culture at Croydon Hills Primary School and would not be possible without the dedication and leadership of our PE teachers, Laura Yorke and Jarrod Butcher (special mention also to Kali Fraser for her long-standing advocacy and development of Boys Netball culture in the school). Their commitment to providing opportunities, encouraging participation and striving for excellence continues to have a significant impact on our students and school community. Congratulations to all involved.
