Senior School

As we move through Term 2, Senior School students are now well underway with assessment schedules, examinations, study preparation and planning for future pathways. This is traditionally a busy and important term across Years 10–12, and I would like to acknowledge the effort students have shown in settling into routines and maintaining focus throughout the term.

Families are encouraged to continue supporting students by maintaining consistent study routines at home, monitoring assessment deadlines and encouraging students to seek assistance early if required. Small habits completed consistently continue to make the greatest difference to student wellbeing and academic progress.

Families are also reminded that we all have access to the Study Skills Handbook website, which provides valuable resources, study techniques and practical advice to support learning and organisation.

Year 10

Year 10 students have made a strong start to their first year in Senior School. Over the coming weeks, students will begin important preparation for Stage 6 subject selection.

Upcoming Year 10 events include:

Parent Teacher Evening: Thursday 30 July 2026. These conversations help ensure that Year 10 students’ upcoming subject choices are informed and align with the student’s abilities and aspirations.

  • Minimum Standards Testing - The online Minimum Standards tests assess reading, writing and numeracy and are a requirement for the Higher School Certificate.
  • Subject Taster Sessions: These sessions provide students with the opportunity to experience a variety of senior subjects before making their Stage 6 subject selections.
  • Year 10 to Year 11 Subject Selection Evening: This information evening will support students and families to better understand NESA requirements, senior course structures and the subject selection process. Please save the date!

Year 11 and Year 12

As senior students’ progress through assessment tasks and examination preparation, organisation and consistent revision remain essential. Students are encouraged to ensure that all study notes remain up to date and that they maintain an effective balance between schoolwork, co-curricular activities and wellbeing.

Families can support students by:

  • encouraging structured homework routines,
  • reducing distractions during study time,
  • assisting students to maintain regular revision,
  • and promoting healthy sleep and wellbeing habits.
