Inclusive Education

Our students have enjoyed a busy and rewarding term filled with exciting learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom. From practical learning experiences to community participation, students have continued to demonstrate enthusiasm, resilience and teamwork.
In Food Technology, students have been developing valuable kitchen and food preparation skills through a range of practical cooking activities. They have enjoyed preparing simple recipes while learning about kitchen safety, hygiene, healthy eating and teamwork. It has been wonderful to see students growing in confidence and independence during these hands-on lessons. Marcello was not happy with the choice of pasta but enjoyed the experience all the same.
A highlight of the term was our participation in the school Cross Country event. Students showed incredible determination and sportsmanship as they completed the course and encouraged one another along the way. We are extremely proud of the positive attitudes displayed by all students who participated.
Students also had the opportunity to attend the 2026 Post School Disability Expo. This excursion provided valuable insight into the many supports, services, training pathways and employment opportunities available after school. Students engaged positively with exhibitors and gained a better understanding of the options available to support their future goals and independence.
Work experience placements have continued to be another fantastic learning opportunity for our students. Through their placements, students have been developing important workplace and communication skills while building confidence in real-world environments. We thank the businesses and community organisations who continue to support our students and provide such meaningful opportunities.
Finally, students enthusiastically participated in the chicken hatching program, providing a valuable hands-on opportunity to explore animal life cycles and development. Throughout the program, students observed the eggs in the incubator, monitored the hatching process, and watched the chicks grow and develop each day. This engaging experience encouraged curiosity, responsibility, and discussion about living things and their needs. Students particularly enjoyed interacting with the chicks and were excited to witness each stage of the life cycle firsthand, helping to strengthen their understanding through meaningful real-world learning experiences
We look forward to continuing these exciting learning experiences throughout the year.
