5-8 Community News

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As we near the end of the term, it’s a perfect time to reflect on and celebrate the incredible year we’ve shared at St. Augustine’s College. Together, we’ve seen our students grow remarkably, not only in their academic achievements but also in their engagement with our community and extracurricular programs. This year has been filled with curiosity, collaboration and creativity and we couldn’t be prouder of all they’ve accomplished.

We hope to see you at our final assembly for the term on Monday 9th December. This assembly is always a highlight, bringing us together to celebrate the year’s successes and enjoy a bit of fun!

Student Leadership 2024 and 2025

A heartfelt thank you to our 2024 leadership team—Kezia B, Zoe G, Max S, Olivia W, Paddy H, Milla Y, Sienna W, Emily W, and Asha-Rose M - for their outstanding contributions this year. These students have left an indelible mark on our school, leading with passion and creating meaningful change within our community.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to welcome our 2025 student leaders, who will undoubtedly continue this legacy of excellence:

  • Community Leaders: Mackenzie D and Toby M
  • Catholic Social Teaching Leaders: Bonnie O and Elvie W
  • Delany House Leaders: Lylah N and Mieke W
  • Brigidine House Leaders: Bridie H and Andrew W
  • Augustine House Leaders: Gemma T and Lily M

2025 Transition

Recently, our 2025 leadership team supported new students joining the College, helping to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. They led games, team-building activities and supportive initiatives, ensuring these students felt at home in their new environment. You may even see some of our future students visiting the College over the coming weeks.

SOLE and TA Update

Our focus in SOLE and TA remains on delivering engaging and purposeful content while reinforcing classroom expectations. Visual supports continue to play an essential role in helping students meet these expectations. We’re committed to maintaining high standards and a positive learning environment right through to the last day of term.

Sun Safety Reminder

As we have entered the warmer months, we remind all students to practice sun safety. Hats are essential for outdoor activities, particularly with rising temperatures this week. Please ensure your child brings a St Augustine's hat to school daily as part of our SunSmart policy.

Use of the Rec Reserve

The Rec Reserve is the perfect space for students to stay active and enjoy the outdoors during this beautiful weather. Whether playing sports or engaging in other activities, it is a great way to connect with friends and make the most of the sunshine.
