Library News

End of the Year Thank you

We would like to thank families for their efforts to support their children in their reading and literacy growth in 2024.

So many families have made sure that students have a library bag each week, encourage them to borrow books and help them return the books the following week. We really appreciate all the work that goes into teaching our students about being responsible for the books they borrow and returning them so that others can enjoy the books too.

The support for our Scholastic Book Club has been very beneficial as we have been able to buy $670.45 worth of books for our students from the rewards points this year.

Many thanks also to families who are helping hunt for books which have been mislaid during the year and are now finding their way back to the library.

Where’s Wally is on the hunt again this year looking for the many books to return. Watch out for the update posts on how many books are still out. Our countdown has begun (249).

Star Borrowers

Our star borrowers for 2024 are …….

Eva (Year 6) with 124 and Amelie (Year 4) with 123 books borrowed for the year. Congratulations to these students on an amazing achievement. Research shows that reading for pleasure is one of the best things students can do to improve their results in all subjects and also a great way to protect our mental health.

Well done also to: Dixie (Foundation with 31 books); Chase (Year 1 with 52); Katelyn, Ayla, Jefreanne (Year 2 with 48); Harry (Year 3 with 49); Ryan (Year 4 with 53); Aliesha (Year 5 with 101); Callum (Year 6 with 94); Michael (Year 7) and Guneet (Year 10).

Our winning class is 3 RD who borrowed 514 books for the year!
