Year 10 and 11 Exams

This week, students in Years 10 and 11 have been engaged in revision during their classes, getting ready for their Exam Week scheduled from Monday 18 November to Friday 22 November. Students are expected to be present at school only during their designated exam periods.

Year 10 students enrolled in the academic pathway are only required on site during periods when they have an exam scheduled. Students unable to make other arrangements during the day are able to use the school Library as a private study space and must sign in and out at the reception desk.

Students in the Vocational Minor program will attend regular classes during the examination period.

It is imperative that students know when each of their exams are scheduled and that they meet on the outdoor Oak Centre courts 10 minutes prior.

All students must be in full school uniform during the examination period.

They will need to have their exam materials and stationary in a plastic pocket and use a clear plastic water bottle, if required. Students will not be able to leave the exam room early, and therefore it is imperative they use the time allocated effectively to complete each exam to the best of their ability.

If you have any queries in regards to the examination period, or Year 10 & 11 in general, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s Learning Mentor, House Leader or Mrs Shari Gotch and Mr Rhys Leslie. We extend our best wishes to all students. Please find the Year 10 & 11 Exam Timetable below.

Year 7 Changemaker Projects

In the final two weeks of this term, our Year 7 students will participate in an exciting Inquiry unit focused on the theme of being changemakers and the vital role water plays in our lives.

What Will Students Learn?

Throughout the unit, students will explore how water is used in our region. Topics will include waste management, environmental impacts, water conservation, and the role of water in industries such as farming. A key part of their learning will be an immersion day, where students will dive deeper into various aspects of the water industry and its connection to the theme of changemaking—a concept we've been exploring throughout the year. Students will also continue to develop key competencies, such as collaboration and critical thinking, as they work on their projects. They will complete self-assessments to reflect on these essential skills. This program aims to foster lifelong learners who think critically and collaborate effectively.

Immersion Days

Immersion Days will take place on:

  • Thursday 21 November (Classes 7A-E)
  • Friday 22 November (Classes 7F-I)

During these days, students will participate in a variety of information sessions and local excursions to better understand how water is used, the impact of waste on the environment, and the role of innovation and changemakers across different industries. Students were able to select their preferences during an information session earlier this term, and further details of their immersion day experiences will be available on their Compass Events.

Projects

After the Immersion Day, students will work in groups to create projects based on their newfound knowledge and personal interests, with a focus on collaboration. These projects will be showcased at our Project Expo, providing students the opportunity to share their learning and ideas with the school community.

Save the Date!

We invite you to join us for the Project Expo on Friday 6 December from 12:15 pm, where students will present their projects.

Stay tuned for more information!
