The library has some exciting new books in stock this month which have been put out on our shelves. Be sure to check them out during your next visit. Also, don’t forget, our digital library is always open for eBooks and audiobooks—just log into Sora! Come and see the friendly team at the Brigidine and Kildare Libraries for help and assistance.

Recognising our war history

Monday 11 November was Remembrance Day.  Our libraries have showcased this historical day by setting up wonderful displays for our visitors to exhibit and peruse our non-fiction historical war collections. Come and see our amazing library staff to direct you to these collections and help you find a novel or memoir telling stories of our veteran heroes.

Makerspace Launch

The St Joseph's College Library has launched a Makerspace site on our Library website. The Library is teaming up with the Technology department to create a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) Makerspace. There is an explanation for "what is a makerspace?" on the Makerspace page so if you are interested in building stuff, coding and robotics, making stuff and learning about technology, head to the Makerspace site and sign up to join the SJE Makerspace community or ask Mr Cohn or Mr Robinson and get connected. The page also has resources to coding in a range of popular computer languages including scratch, python and others and links to 3D Design and 3D printing applications and tools.  

Reminders 

Exam period is still underway, therefore, we ask that all students entering the Brigidine Campus library please be mindful of students using the space for extra study or tutoring time. Although we welcome all visitors, we must remember the library is a place for students to come for quiet focus and we do not want unnecessary distractions or interruptions impeding on our students’ exam preparation efforts. This also refers to before and after school, and break times.

Also, for stocktake purposes, we ask that students and staff with outstanding books/ calculators/ cameras etc please return these to our libraries as soon as possible.
