Headlice

Hi families,

We have seen an increased number of headlice cases throughout all year levels of the school the past week,  please check your child's hair and treat as needed.

There are so many treatment options available for headlice, however the main points to remember are basically the same for all:

  • Apply treatment - leave for recommended time
  • Use a NIT comb through the hair MULTIPLE times to remove NITS and EGGS
  • REPEAT @ 7 days then 14 days to break the cycle and remove any remaining eggs/nits
  • ALL household members to be treated
  • WASH
    • bedding, pillow cases, sheets etc
    • comforters - teddys, blankies, sookies etc
    • hair brushes and combs
    • toweling/face washers
    • HATS - especially your child's school hat.

Please reach out if you are having difficulties treating your child's hair.

Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

We have had a positive pertussis case in grade 2.

If you suspect that your child may have symptoms please make an appointment to see your Doctor for PCR testing.

Thanks Nurse Belinda.
