Rubbish Campaign
At the start of Term 3, we introduced the Do The Right Thing (DTRT) rubbish campaign to combat the rise in litter around our school grounds. The plan was to raise awareness and change behaviour over time.
Principal Carrie Wallis launced the campaign at start of Term assemblies, with a photo slide of some of the rubbish around a the school,. where everyone agreed there was a problem. The campaign strategy included:
Our community has embraced this campaign and we have seen a marked improvement in our grounds. We look forward to continuing this message in 2025.
To further involve and engage our community we held a DTRT Video Competition throughout Term 3 & 4. Students and staff were invited to create a short video to promote the theme of 'Do the Right Thing, Put it in the Bin' for the chance to win a $50 Westfield Gift Voucher for each person on the creative team (up to five people). Videos had to follow these rules:
The judging panel consisted of our Principal and one student from each of Years 7 - 11. We are pleased to announce the winners of the first ever DTRT Video Competition is 'Go Ahead, DTRT, Make My Day' by the Year 11 Captains.
Congratulations to Fiona, Mable, Phoenix and Katherine who will each receive a $50 Westfield Voucher.
Well done to all who entered!
