On Friday 8 November, my fellow Year 11 VCE Music students and I walked across to Wantirna Views Aged Care to perform for the residents. We did this to get practice for our recital on the 14 November amd to spread the joy of music to the older generation. Many of the audience clapped and tapped along and one was even a retired Pianist! Big thanks to everyone that performed: Liam, Kaylee, Tiarnah, Sienna, Stephanie, Oliver, Xavier, Nyx & Emily. Thanks to Elliot for compering the whole event. A very big thank you to Mr Stuart Andrew for being a star Accompanist and to Nicholetta for organising the whole event. This was a very fun experience to play for the older generation and I hope to do it again!

The 9/10 dance composition class had the opportunity to perform alongside the Unit 2 VCE dance class, in the Semester 2 Dance Performance Evening on Thursday the 7th of November. We all started to create our solos or duos midway through term 3, using the choreographic tools we had learnt about throughout the term. The process was very student lead; we all cut our own music, designed our own lighting, and found inspiration for our costumes in the costume room.
After many rehearsals, it was time to perform! On the nigh, we completed a warm up on the stage, got into our costumes, and waited backstage for our time to shine. Before we went on, our student MC Trinity introduced our solos, giving the audience information about our intention, structure, and key points to look out for in our choreography. After the performance, we went out to the theatre foyer to meet our friends and family who all gave us really positive feedback. This performance was an amazing experience, and if anyone is considering doing VCE Dance or loves performing, I would recommend you take Dance Composition, as there are many opportunities like this for you to show your talents!
