Work samples and highlights from our super talented students this past fortnight

Aussie Bird Count Results

Over the three lunch times we had about 52 kids participate, which was great to see.

A big thank you to Sinead and Kelly for all the assistance with our bird counts!

Grade 6

On Tuesday Grade 6 students were lucky to have a visit from Fire Rescue Victoria, who taught us about safety in the home and showed us features of the fire truck. Students enjoyed practising with the hose and hearing the sirens as they left for an emergency job!

Grades 3-6 PE

During Term 4, Grade 3-6 have been participating in a SEPEP (Sports Education Physical Education Program) unit which has a focus on Newcomb/Volleystars/Volleyball. Each grade has been split into teams and they initially created a team name and logo to represent their team. From there, they have been completing a round robin tournament where students have improved their skills greatly over the past 4 weeks. They are also required to score, umpire and update results and ladders, making them understand that there is a lot more to community sport than just turning up and playing. All students have done a fantastic job throughout the unit!
