Dear Holy Family Parents and Carers,

Year 6 Public Speaking Cluster Finals

This week the Year 6 Cluster Public Speaking Finals for the CSBB North Shore (south) schools was hosted at Holy Family Linfield. The finalists represented their schools by presenting amazing, prepared speeches and impromptu speeches on a variety of topics. Despite the rain, all students participated admirably. Congratulations to the finalists that participated and a special thank you to our two adjudicators, Ms Fiona Brown from CSBB and Mr Matt Cross, Member for Davidson. We are all so very proud of Vanessa and Charlotte, who represented Holy Family. 

Public speaking encourages students to develop confidence and articulate their insights in a clear and concise manner, it is most definitely a life skill. We have learnt so much about the Aussie spirit, global issues, Vincent Van Gough’s and so much more. A big thank you to all involved for making the Public Speaking competition a huge success, in particular Mrs Dickinson who organised the day.

Science Week 

Next week we will be celebrating Science Week—a time to ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and explore the wonders of the world around us. Our students will be immersed in a variety of engaging, practical activities designed to spark their interest and deepen their understanding of scientific concepts. Science Week is a wonderful reminder of the importance of inquiry-based learning and the joy that comes from exploring how things work. A special thanks to Mrs Busseler for organising the activities.
