Book Week Parade Celebration
What a wonderful morning we had celebrating our annual Book Week Parade under the COLA! The energy and creativity on display were truly inspiring, with students proudly dressed as their favourite book characters - bringing stories to life in the most colourful and imaginative ways.
A big thank you to Mrs Antoniadis and Mrs Teasdale for their outstanding coordination of this much-loved event. Their dedication and enthusiasm ensured everything ran smoothly and created a memorable experience for our students.
It was also fantastic to see so many parents in attendance, sharing in the joy and excitement of the day. Special thanks to our Parents and Friends group for organising the coffee van, which added a warm and welcoming touch for families and staff alike.
Book Week continues to be a highlight of our school calendar, reminding us of the power of stories which are able to connect, inspire, and ignite a love of learning.
2026 Students
Planning for the 2026 school year has begun. To assist with this process, if you know your child (in Grade Prep to 5) will be leaving Holy Rosary at the end of the year, except the graduating Grade 6 class, could you please inform me via email or a letter of your intentions as soon as possible. By doing this, it will assist in organising staffing and class numbers for the 2026 school year. We are aware that some children have enrolled at other schools and would really appreciate a formal withdrawal to support our planning for next year. I thank you for your assistance, in advance, for the parents whom this applies.
Dr Jared Cooney Horvath
We were thrilled to share the first video in our special parent series with 13 families recently—what a fantastic start to this exciting initiative! These presentations, created in partnership with world-renowned educational neuroscientist Dr Jared Cooney Horvath, are designed to empower parents and carers with practical insights into how children learn best.
As a reminder, our second video in the series will be shared at school on Monday at 9.00am and later online at 7.00pm and is tailored specifically for families with children in Grades 5 & 6. This session focuses on the theme of ‘STUDY’, offering valuable strategies to support students as they develop effective learning habits.
Catholic Education Sandhurst Ltd is proud to collaborate with Dr Horvath, whose expertise in the Science of Learning continues to inspire educators and families alike. These resources are part of our shared commitment to helping every student thrive—at school and beyond.
Staffing
Over this week and next, Mrs Thurley has been seconded to St Joseph's Rochester as Acting Principal. She will continue to coordinate our sacramental program with Reconciliation next Tuesday 26th August at 6pm. We also welcome Milan Kilcullan who has joined our staff as a learning support officer working across the school.
