SLA 

In SLA we have been very lucky to have been involved in many wonderful experiences over Term 3.  Some highlights over the last 2 weeks include learning about 3D shapes, following the scientific process and conducting science experiments, preparing to create our own Energy Garden by following a design brief and practising for our upcoming production.

3D shapes

SLA1 (Jessica) - I really liked how we made different 3D objects, decorated them and coloured them how we liked.  You can make them look artistic and it’s interesting to see how the net looks compared to the object.

SLA2 (Antonio) - A cross section is what a 3D shape would look like if it is cut a certain way. It surprised me how some shapes may have different cross sections.

SLA

3 (Levi) - It is fun to learn about 3D shapes.  You get to learn many things like, the names of objects, cross sections and nets. Learning about 3D shapes is a lot of fun, especially when using the online resources such as the Geoboard!

Energy Garden 

SLA1 (Benji) - we are learning about conducting electricity to make our Garden of Eden project. We are really excited to make our flower with LED’s.

SLA2 (Sienna) - I’m really excited to start the digital garden of Eden and my favourite energy is light. I’m planning to use pipe cleaners to create a flower and LED lighting.

SLA3 (George) - I like working on the Garden of Eden project because we are using what we have learnt about transformation, change, circuits and energy.   We have learnt how to turn on a light on command and how to play music using coding. This is very exciting!

STOMP - upcoming production

SLA1 (Isabelle and Sienna) - It’s been really fun rehearsing, and we like learning the dances. We really like the moves, and especially the finger pointing at the start, it’s really fun and we’ve enjoyed learning it!

SLA2 (Levi B) - I’m enjoying the dance and theme of music, how it’s a club style. This is going to be my last performance at this school, so I’m going to make it my best. I’m looking forward to it!

SLA3 (Alanah) - I’ve enjoyed rehearsing for the dance and I am very excited for the upcoming production at St Monica’s.  I think that our dance is looking very neat and really energetic and fun.  The parents and friends will be very impressed!!
