Where Adventures Begin

News from the Kindergarten

What a blessing it is to be part of a beautiful Christ-centred Kinder community! MECS Kinder provides an engaging environment where children immerse themselves in God’s creation and marvel in the awe and wonder of the beauty of it all through play. It is a place where children are curiously questioning and are at a pivotal age of learning in early childhood, absorbing so many learning opportunities around them. During Kinder years, the children are forming their identities as important parts of MECS Kinder as well as their identities in Christ. This prepares them to be part of the wider community as we assist them to reach those milestones in Kinder.

The main idea for our Kinder program is expressed through our deep hope for the children. This term, our deep hope is that children know they are loved by God, He is always with us and He created the world. The educators are a vital instrument in ensuring this learning transpires - they come alongside children and teach them, learn with them and intentionally seek out opportunities to help the children to develop and grow in their faith. Our program is based on biblical truths and Christ is central to each and every day at Kinder. The best part of all, is most of this learning is done through play! We all have a wonderful time while learning through play-based experiences in our purpose-built indoor as well as natural outdoor spaces.

Our purpose, Seeking the Kingdom of God in Education, is something we often revisit and reflect on as staff. Reflecting on the purpose together gives us a time to be still and draw near to God. Consequently, this positions us well to be best fulfilling our responsibility to partner with families in educating the precious children entrusted into our care. They are at such a young and important developmental stage and we are blessed to be able to share in their growth and development!
