Year 10 Psychology - Fun at the Zoo

Our Year 10 Psychology students had a great time when they visited the zoo to learn about the Ethics and Research Methods associated with caring for animals. The students discussed what needs to be considered to ensure positive welfare of zoo animals including health, nutrition, environment, behaviour & affective state. We also applied the ethical principles that we usually apply to the study of human psychology to research with animals – including consent, protection from harm and right to withdraw. Students also had a great time interacting with the animals and taking some amazing photos of the animals for our class photo competition!
