Mr Andrew Devoy, Curriculum Leader - Technologies

The Technology Department has been actively engaged in coordinating accreditations for the Certificate II Hospitality and Certificate I/II in Construction Pathways courses over the past week.

On Wednesday 7 February, the Year 12 Hospitality students participated in a comprehensive full-day course on the Responsible Service of Gambling. This qualification is increasingly vital in various establishments that feature TAB facilities. The following day, Year 11 Hospitality students underwent the Responsible Service of Alcohol course, marking the completion of external qualifications delivered by CTA Training as part of their Certificate II Qualification. The presenters commended the exemplary behaviour and attentiveness of our students during the course. Congratulations to the Hospitality students for a job well done.

To conclude the week, on Friday 9 February, Year 11 Certificate I/II Construction Pathways (CPC10120, CPC20220) students were required to obtain a "White Card" qualification for Workplace Health and Safety compliance. This qualification is mandatory for all tradespeople entering or working on a construction site. The full-day White Card Course, conducted at Marist by Bluedog Training, was met with enthusiasm by the students, who exhibited exceptional conduct and interest throughout the day. A special thank you goes to Mr. Garrick Dillon, our Bluedog Training Liaison trainer, for his valuable contribution.
