Year 3

Hello all parents and carers and welcome to 3E! The crazy season is starting to come to an end as the students are starting to settle into the classroom and their routines. It’s been great watching the students interact positively, making new friends and supporting each other in a number of ways.

We have been preparing ourselves for NAPLAN by exploring a range of reading approaches and using the SQ3R reading strategy to support our understanding of both the text and the comprehension questions. 

We have also began creating narratives and looking at ways we can enhance written work by including adjectives. Students have created their own characters and explained their appearance, habits and wants to develop a rich character description.

As if all this wasn’t enough, the Year 3 students had their first ever taste of cross country this week. It was a much longer distance to run than any of the children ever imagined and boy was it hot! I’m so proud of the students for having a go and surprising themselves.
