Learning and Teaching

Always Learning

Learning and teaching isn't just for students! Our teaching staff participate in fortnightly Professional Learning Training (PLT) sessions that centre on best practice, the most valuable education insights and adapting for today's environment.

Last week's PLT session was on February 14, so we had some fun with our theme -

Love 2 Learn for Valentine's Day. Our teaching staff engaged in a dynamic session that showcased their passion for Formative Assessment strategies in a fun and interactive speed-date style.

The atmosphere was electric as our educators shared their insights and experiences, fostering a sense of collaboration and camaraderie. It was heartening to witness the genuine love for learning that our teaching community exuded throughout the event.

Following the engaging discussions, we delved into the world of flicks - a Valentine's favourite - with clips related to peer observations. An adventure we are all excited to take in 2024.

But the learning didn't stop there! Our teachers proactively made ‘plans for the future’ by recording on an exit ticket, their eliciting evidence of learning intentions for the next fortnight.

The friendships forged and the collaborative spirit that permeated the event will undoubtedly enrich the experiences of both our educators and, in turn, our students.

We believe that a love for learning is contagious, and this Valentine's Day PLT was a testament to the dedication and passion our teaching staff bring to the learning experience of staff and students.

Here's to fostering a culture of continuous learning, formative assessment, collaboration, and friendship!
