Principal News

Dear Sacred Heart Community

Prayer

During this fire season, we pray for the selfless volunteers who are willing to give up their precious time to help us all stay safe

God of all,

we pray for those who respond at the first call, For those who rush toward danger, bringing hope and comfort; For those who serve, protect and guide others to safety. Keep them in Your care and safely protect them as they follow Your command to love their neighbors.

Amen

"Opening Of The School Year" Mass

Our Opening of the School Year Mass has been rescheduled to next Wednesday 6th March. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by last nights cancellation but in the interests of health and safety, we thought it was the right decision to make. Again we hope to see as many families as possible at Sacred Heart Church next Wednesday at 6.00pm.

Donated Icy Poles - Thank you

Thank you to the David family who kindly donated this weeks icy poles. You kind gesture is greatly appreciated.

Altar Servers Program

Father Aloysius  visited me earlier this week to inform me about his enthusiasm for our altar servers to commence helping at Mass in the coming weeks. The parish volunteer who was training the students last year could not commit after two sessions last year. Father Aloysius is confident however that these students are ready. I will send a letter home to the parents of these students next week.

Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme

Many of you will be aware of the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme, an initiative by our government to reduce landfill by encouraging recycling. I was contacted by our parent Joane (mum of Chloe and Ezra) last year about not only the positive environmental impact of the scheme but also as an opportunity for our school to raise funds.

This week I (with the help of parent Gauri mum of Veer) registered our school as a partner participant in this scheme.

Next week I will present more information about how our families can participate and raise funds for our school.

Assembly Postponed

Please be aware that next Thursday's assembly conducted by our Year 2/3 and Year 3/4 classes has had to be rescheduled to the following Thursday 14th March.

Yours Sincerely

Mark
