Family BBQ
It was so good to see so many of our families come along and join in the fun for our Community BBQ afternoon. Thankfully the weather really looked after us and it was the perfect temperature to join in the fun.
A huge thank you to our Fund-Raising coordinators Stef and Karyn who put in so much work behind the scenes prior to the event. To all the parents and staff who jumped in and manned the food stall thank you so much. To Mr. Leighton and his band thanks for the great tunes, it helped to get the crowd in the mood for fun. Thanks also to Ms S and Mr Olsen who planned the great sporting activities on the basketball courts and footy oval.
It was a fun event, and we look forward to more to come this year.
Grade Six Camp
Last Friday we welcomed back our Grade Six students who participated in a 3-day City Experience Camp. There were so many different activities for the students to enjoy from swimming at MSAC, visiting the MCG and Shrine of Remembrance and travelling on buses, trams, and trains.
The weather was very hot and each day the groups walked up to 18km’s, so I am sure there were some very tired campers on Friday night.
I had the pleasure of receiving an email from the MCG tour manager saying our school students were the best behaved and most respectful group she had encountered in her time as manager. Thanks to Mr. Osbourne for planning the camp with the assistance of the fantastic Year Six team. Thanks also to all the parent volunteers who helped to ensure the camp was a special experience for all our students.
We are very proud that even in challenging weather conditions our students were still able to show they can live the school’s values of respect, resilience, responsibility and creativity.
Well done to all concerned.
All the best,
Chris Short
