Principal's Message
Dear parents and community members
At the end of every term it is appropriate to reflect on what has transpired over that period of time. I have certainly learnt a great deal about the school, the people who work here, its history and its place within Moree. I am also certain that I have much more to learn.
A book I read recently discussed the greatest desires of people and one of these was a sense of belonging. This is a powerful force that shapes how we feel about a space or place. The opposite of belonging is when we experience a disconnect to a space or place. If we do not feel a sense of connection and belonging the natural reaction is to go to another place where we can find a comfortable setting. What we are aiming to develop is a connection to school and a sense of belonging for all young people and adults by being valued and treated with dignity and respect.
An important element of schools is that they become places for continual improvement. We need to be looking at those areas that we can have the greatest impact for improving learning, well being and faith development for our young people. We have evaluated our settings from term one and intend to implement strategies to support the growth and capacity of all people in the school.
Anzac day is a significant day on Australia’s calendar. More and more people are participating in the ceremonies and this has included our schools.
We would like to see as many students as possible join us on Anzac day to demonstrate our gratitude toward those who have paved the way for our freedoms.
I would like to wish our community a joyful and restful holiday.
Warm regards
Simon Fleming
