2024 Strings News

The 2024 Start Up Strings have started on their exciting violin and cello journeys! They have been learning about the parts of their instruments and how to handle them as well as how to pluck the strings and to play in time together as one. Fun times!

Last year's  Start Up Strings group has now become the 2024 Corelli Strings. They have had two focused rehearsals so far and when asked what they think about the group, here are two responses:

"I love Corelli Strings because it brings harmony, happiness and joy to the world".

"I like Corelli Strings because there are wonderful pieces of music to play. I am so happy to be back playing violin with all my other friends.

I started violin because I love the melody of the music. I love to learn new things and I think the violin is a lovely instrument.

I would love to keep playing the violin 'til the end of year six. I love music so much.

If my violin skills pay off I will do it in high school".

Go Corelli! (and other parts of Strings!)

The Orchestra has also had a successful start to 2024. The players who are new to Orchestra have shown great courage in fitting into the new, larger group (64 children this year!). It is fabulous to see the Year 6 students stepping up to their new roles of being the leaders of the ensemble.
