Year 4: Celebrating Harmony and Creativity

Last week was a celebration of Harmony Week for our Year 3 students! They immersed themselves in various activities, but the highlight was undoubtedly the completion of a remarkable quilt. Each stitch symbolized unity and diversity, reflecting the essence of Harmony Week.

Year 4: Mastering the Art of Time

In the realm of Mathematics, our Year 4 cohort delved deep into the intricacies of time. From decoding digital and analog time to the minute, to seamlessly converting between diverse units of time, their journey has been both enlightening and engaging. Through innovative methods like crafting mini analogue clocks, timing activities to precision, and playing stimulating games of 'guess the time,' our students have embraced the challenge with gusto!

Year 5: Empowering Minds with Subtraction Strategies

In the pursuit of mental arithmetic prowess, our Year 5 students have delved into the realm of subtraction strategies. Armed with techniques such as compensation, splitting, and the adept use of number lines, they're focussing on subtraction equations with confidence and efficiency. It's a testament to their dedication and determination to excel in mathematical endeavours.

Year 6: Talk for Writing

As part of our Talk For Writing program in Year 6, students have displayed their confidence with new vocabulary and sentence patterns through their study of the old English story Beowulf. They have been working on creating suspenseful texts and exploring the concept of contrasting settings and personification. Year 6 students have also been nominating themselves for College Leadership Team roles for Term 2. They have some great ideas already and are raring to go!

Year 6: Adventure Beckons at Bickley Outdoor Recreation Centre

While our Year 6 students bid adieu to the classroom, they welcomed an exhilarating escapade at Bickley Outdoor Recreation Centre. Nestled amidst the serene bushland, the camp offers an array of adrenaline-pumping activities including rowing, orienteering, crate climbing, and the thrill of the flying fox. As they navigate through team-building challenges, the lush surroundings provide a picturesque backdrop for unforgettable memories and invaluable experiences.

As the school year progresses, each grade continues to thrive and explore new horizons. Have a happy and holy Easter.
