Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Week 4. I hope you have settle back into the routine of school. Most of the new Kindergarten students are school pros now and it is a joy to see them walk confidently into school each morning. The new students also seem to be well settled.
Theme for 2024
The Catholic Education Bathurst Diocese has announced that the theme for 2024 will be ongoing from 2023. This theme is Experience the Spirit of Community. The spirit of community refers to the community's interconnectedness and collective responsibility. Meet the Teacher and Welcome BBQ
Thank you to all those families who were able to make it to Meet-the-Teacher and the Welcome BBQ. It was good to see you all and the teachers appreciated the time to put faces to names. A lovely community event to start the year.
Chess at McAuley
At lunchtime on Wednesdays we have a Chess Club run by Mrs Ann Brown. Mrs Brown alternates chess club fortnightly for infants and primary classes. Later in the year, there will be a two day Chess competition. The first day Monday, 17th June, will be held here at Catherine McAuley, in Kenna Hall. The second day, Wednesday 19th June will be held at Orange Christian School. I know last year we were very successful in this competition and the students had fun meeting and competing against students from other schools.
Student Representative Council (SRC)
Last week we announced the student representatives for each class, Years 3-6. These students will represent their classes at the SRC meetings. The infants classes have in class councillors who have particular responsibilities within the classroom. Please see the list below:
Have a lovely week!
