Dear Families,

It has been all singing, dancing and music making in the Music Room for the past 2 weeks.  The Year 2-6 students have enjoyed sharing what there favourite songs are and experiences of music in their lives with their classmates.  

We also began using the xylophones, chime bars, drums and rhythm sticks following basic notation with a call and response song from Ghana. We will add more to this song in each class during the next few weeks as we explore music from different countries.

The Foundation and Year One students have explored beat and pitch matching through a range of games this week using Bruce the famous monkey puppet and the slide whistle. 

The Foundation students also enjoyed using puppets to sing a song about learning their new friends names, whilst the Year One's explored using a number of percussion instruments.
