We are learning to READ!
Starting school comes with a whole range of new experiences! This week the foundation students were introduced to ‘Reading Groups’. This is a time where the students can further develop their reading behaviours, letter recognition and phonemic awareness, expand their vocabulary and advance their storytelling, all through fun, hands on activities. Our amazing foundation students have embraced this new daily routine, just like the many others that come with school life. Well done Foundation!

Jumpin' Jellyfish!
Year Ones arrived back at Sacred Heart last week after a terrific summer! Lots of fun, relaxing, swimming at pools and the beach!
Maybe they spotted some jellyfish - but surely not as colorful as these they made with paint and curled up paper. Art with Ann on Fridays is a highlight of the week!
Year 2/3
Hello wonderful families,
We have had a great start to the term getting to know each other and settling into the classroom routine. Our class has all their specialists on a Wednesday and therefore the sports uniform can be worn on this day. Next week on Tuesday the 12th the Year 3 children will have an incursion at school which has a focus on the Inquiry topic this term ‘Keeping Healthy and Happy’. Families please be aware that several children have food allergies relating to nuts in our class. Please be mindful of this when packing their lunch boxes. We have been busy this past week beginning to learn about The Good Samaritan which is a focus in Religion. Below is some of the artwork we have been working on to display this important parable.
Year 3/4
This week students have been revising patterns starting from any point, counting forwards and backwards.
It was fun to count using the interactive whiteboard and hundreds chart. Benjerman.
It was fun because we had to work out the patterns. Amy
We were colouring in the patterns and this helped us to know what went next. Olivia

Lacy and I got along really well. Every day in the morning I have to wait for her because Lacy takes so long to get ready and it takes like one second.
