Principal News
Dear Sacred Heart Community
Prayer
Welcome Back Samantha
Some of you will already be aware of the fantastic news that our student Samantha was discharged from the Royal Children's Hospital last Friday. After nearly three months of intensive care from the doctors and nurses, your thoughts and prayers and kind support of Damira, the specialists treating Samantha have agreed that it's time for her to be home with her loving family.
Samantha will be transiting back to school over this term and next, beginning with "social visits" for the next few weeks.
Thank you for the way you have embraced Samantha's story and shown such empathy for her family with your thoughts, prayers and support.
Welcome to our New Students
Meet our new students in Year Two/Three. A big welcome to Yaseen and Vlami. I know our community will make sure that these two boys and their family's feel right at home very quickly. Vlami has a younger brother Zach in Year Foundation. Next week we will introduce another group of new students who have joined us in other classes.
Parent/Teacher Interviews
All families will have received notification by email, of next Wednesday 14th February, Parent/Teacher Interviews (Please note: Year One interviews will take place on Thursday 22nd February). This will be a normal school day for our students with dismissal being the normal 3.20 time. I ask that you please check your emails for details on how to register for an interview via the "school interviews" platform.
Lunch Orders
Please be aware that a new lunch order menu is in place. A copy is in this newsletter and hard version can be obtained from our office.
Free Icy Poles
A big thank you to the very generous parent who donated our icy poles last Friday. Our students were most grateful. A reminder we sell icy poles each Friday in Terms One and Four. The icy poles sell for $1.00.
Nut Allergy
We have a number of students with an allergy to nut products. For their safety we ask that our students not bring items of food that contain nut products. Whilst advice from professionals is not to ban nuts as in previous times, we want to make our school environment as safe for our students as possible.
Parking
In just two weeks we have had a number of incidents in Clifton Grove after school, with parents doing "U" turns and double parking. These are dangerous habits and could lead to injury. Parking officers have been patrolling the street after school to ensure parents are using correct driving habits.
Returning Former Students
It was great to see our two former school Vice Captains and now Year Seven students, Jemimah and Yash this week. Both students are really enjoying their transition to secondary school.
Keyboard and Guitar Lessons
As detailed in last week's newsletter, our school offers private keyboard and guitar lessons for interested students on a Tuesday. These lessons are conducted during school time. For more details please see Cristina or me.
Yours Sincerely
Mark
