Senior School

Meet the Tutor

Wednesday 14 February

Our Meet the Tutor evening will be held next Wednesday 14 February from 5pm beginning in The Revell Centre (Carr Street) and then moving to Tutor Group classrooms. This session will be an opportunity for parents to hear from Principal Esther Hill and other  Senior School leaders about the program and opportunities available in the Senior School this year. Following this, parents will meet with Senior School tutors in class groups. Our experience tells us that partnership between student, home and school will be crucial to achieving the common goals we share.

Uniform

Thank you to students for a really positive and settled start to the school year. It is fantastic to see the Friends’ uniform, including the new Leavers’ Tops for Year 12 students, being worn with pride. Unfortunately there is a misunderstanding around footwear amongst some students. The uniform policy requires white socks with sports uniform and white, grey or navy blue socks with formal uniform. Students require black, leather, lace up shoes for their formal uniform. Blundstones, sports shoes and high top shoes are not acceptable footwear items.

You can view the School Uniform Policy here. We appreciate the support of parents in ensuring uniform expectations are followed.

Catch-up Photo Day

For those students who were unable to attend the photo days this week, a catch-up photo day is scheduled for next week, Tuesday 13 February, 9.30-11.30am, in the lower foyer of The Farrall Centre. Students are required to wear full formal school uniform.

Immunisations

The City of Hobart Council’s immunisation team will be providing immunisations to year 10 students this year. The following vaccines will be provided:

Year 10 Students:

Please Note:

If your child has had a Meningococcal ACWY (Menactra or Nimenrix) vaccine since they turned 14 years old, they do not need to be vaccinated in the school program. However, a repeat vaccination carries no additional risk of adverse reactions.
