Auburn High School has engaged Time & Space to deliver an innovative program to our Class of 2026 students and their parents. The program devised and facilitated by Time & Space, will provide an invaluable opportunity for parents or mentors and students to engage in discussion about a wide variety of issues relating to their senior years and to plan for the challenge ahead. The senior years are in many ways a family effort.

Considerable thought, discussion and planning throughout the Time & Space Program will assist students and their families to experience more enjoyable, and successful senior years. The session provides plenty of opportunity for conversation, personal reflection and the sharing of memories. Most importantly, they are practical. A specific activity will be practised on the night that can be utilised at frequent intervals during the final years of high school.

Time & Space give the participants capacity at this session to schedule this ongoing activity. All Year 10 students have been asked to attend, making the event a priority. We also ask that at least one parent or significant adult in their lives attends with them. The students are welcome to attend with more than one parent or mentor.

We know that families come in all shapes and sizes and not all parents can attend an evening such as this. A mentor such as a grandparent, uncle or aunt or family friend is welcome to attend. Dr Kelly Harris will conduct this evening session. Kelly was a teacher for thirteen years with a focus on the welfare and mental health needs of students and families. Kelly completed her Doctorate of Psychology in 2018 and works in both primary and secondary schools as a psychologist. “It was something that I haven’t had the chance to do before, it was a really great experience!” Tate – Yr 10 Student 2023 “Helpful to have questions guiding what can be tricky conversations. Everyone is in it together which is good! Mary – 2023 Parent/Mentor
