Scoot Safely!

In response to the City of Melbourne’s recent vote to cancel contracts with public e-scooter companies largely due to safety concerns, the Year 12 VCE-VM created an e-scooter safety awareness campaign to encourage behaviour change and ultimately, the reversal of this decision.

The class worked together to create a range of draft campaign materials, before pitching their ideas to a Year 8 class for feedback via a survey.

The campaign includes the following elements:

• Logo
• Poster / Social media post
• Mascots
• Comic

The survey revealed that the Year 8s:

• Felt that the campaign encouraged them to think differently about e-scooter safety (67%)
• Found the comic the most effective campaign element (72%)
• Rated the draft campaign 4 stars overall
