Principal's Message
What a positive and productive Term 3 we have had! From Course Counselling to the Musical Production to the Outdoor Education camp, our students have engaged with curiosity and connection, and plenty of examples of excellence in both their studies and their co-curricular activities.
You will see from this newsletter what an array of learning and activities have been a feature of our school this term. This is also a time to reflect, with your child, on their learning progress. Achievement Progress reports will be published at the end of term. I encourage you to use this as an opportunity to discuss with your child what has enabled their learning progress, what might be areas for further growth and to set some practical and concrete goals for how they could achieve this.
As we move into Term 4, our Year 12s will be preparing for their final exams, with practice exams running from Week 1. Our Year 12 students will undoubtedly be working hard over the holidays to prepare themselves for the exam period, finalising any class work and setting up good revision practices. I encourage them to make sure that they also take time to relax and recharge, spending time with friends and eating well, as a return to Term 4 feeling rested and revitalised will set them up for success in this last stretch of their VCE marathon.
Term 4 will also see our Year 10s prepare for their move to their VCE years, with VCE Orientation and a full-day introduction to Year 11 during November.
As I have shared in this newsletter previously, I have also been working with the Department of Education throughout this year on supporting our facilities and accommodation for our growing student enrolments. I hope to have some further updates to share with you about our 2025 and beyond planning early in Term 4.
Please note that this newsletter also contains important information about the School Saving Bonus, which all families will receive to assist with the cost of books and school expenses in 2025. You will access the Bonus using the email address we have on file for you at the school. Please make sure that this is up to date. You can check and update your email address either via the Compass parent portal, or by emailing the office university.hs@education.vic.gov.au
Have a very safe and restful break,
