Green and gold have been on our minds! 

Go Aussies, go! 

The excitement has been building as the 2024 Olympic Games are here! Grade 6 have been diving into all things Olympics, from cheering on Team Australia to discovering fun facts about rival countries, famous athletes, and the host cities for our information reports. We’ve been using our craft skills to make both the Olympic and Paralympic rings and designed our very own mascots using each country's history.

 

Fun Facts:

 

France is 1 of 5 countries who have been represented at all Summer 

Olympic games - Phoebe

 

Italy is most famous for winning Fencing medals with a total of 100+  - Scarlett and Mia

 

Canada has hosted the Olympics three times - Bushra and Armaan

 

The 2020 Olympics were hosted in Tokyo, Japan - Amelie and Holly

 

In the 2020 Tokyo games, China won 89 medals in total - Sarah and Ayaan

 

Great Brittan is the only nation to have won at least one gold medal in 

every Summer Games - Ayla and Steph

 

The Netherlands hosted the first Olympics with a flame in 1928 - Luka and John

 

Idalys Ortiz Bocourt is a famous Cuban Judo champion, winning 

medals in 2008,2012 and 2016 - Lucia and Alexa
