Celebrating Fathers and Other Special Men at CPS
The PFA again this year organised a range of beautiful gifts for students to browse and purchase last week, at the Fathers' Day and Gifts of Appreciation stall.
A big thank you to Pooja Jethra for organising this great event once again, and to all the other parents who volunteered to help wrap the gifts and run the stall. Next year will be Pooja’s last year as a CPS parent, so it would be great to have someone working with her, with a view to coordinating the stalls in 2026. If this is something you might be interested in, please email pfa@carnegieps.vic.edu.au.
The celebrations continued with the Fathers and Special Friends' BBQ on Friday, 30 August. It was fantastic to see so many dads and father figures get involved by visiting their kids' classrooms and staying for a sausage or samosa.
We had an army of volunteers, thank you to those who helped make the event such a success, including Sandra Michela, Alan Cook, Pooja Jethra, Lee Vu, Sian Holm, Jenn Needham, Beau Landes, Fasia and her husband, Nilesh Raj, JOJO Naser, Chris Newton, Siddarth Kumar, Jerome, Jerome's mum, Candice Hall, Jon Hall, Charlotte Baroni, Jayanne, Anu Rampalli, Andrew Tsivicos, Dilshad Dumasia, Tali Kirshenberg, Milan Nikolic, Mandi Katzenstein, Christopher Winter, Stephen Wall, Bart Wildash.
Thank you also to the following local businesses who donated or provided a significant discount, please support them when possible. Baker's Delight Carnegie, 102 Koornang Rd and MVJ Finest Groceries and Pure Spices, 99A Koornang Rd.
Finally, a big thank you to Anthony Hillier for all his hard work in planning for and coordinating the event again this year - it is fast becoming a much loved fixture on the school calendar!
PFA Popcorn Days
There is one more popcorn day scheduled for each age group for this year - 6th September for students in Grades Prep - 2, and Friday 13th September for students in Grades 3 - 6.
We still need a few volunteer helpers for Fri 13th - please add your name to SignUp if you can help - https://signup.com/go/rfQFDNp
A big thank you to all the wonderful parent volunteers who have made Popcorn Day possible this term and last. A special thanks to co-ordinator Soraya O’Connor for making it all happen week in, week out, and to James and Simone Kondarovskis and the Superpop Group for the generous donation of the machine and supplies.
