Year 11 and 12

Dear Students, parents, and guardians,

After a busy first half of Term 3, it’s hard to believe that we still have so much ahead of us this term! The end of course work and final SACs are only weeks away for our Year 12 VCE students, and we will increasingly move our focus to their VCAA exams preparation. Our students have been engaged in a rigorous final stretch of classwork, with many teachers providing a thorough revision of key concepts and exam preparation strategies.

Students who are completing a scored Unit 3 and 4 VCE subject will need to be available for practice exams and revision lectures during the school holidays.  This includes Year 11 students completing an accelerated subject.

Year 11 VCE Study Skills Workshops have been taking place during Connect. These workshops are aimed at refining study techniques for both this year and next year. These sessions have been well-received, and we encourage students to put these strategies into practice.

On Tuesday 13 August we held our annual Year 12 Warm and Fuzzy Day. Our Year 12s wore their PJs to school, enjoyed coffee and donuts before school, a BBQ at Brunchtime and exchanged messages of encouragement in Connect. We hope all of our students feel appreciated and supported.

Recognising the stress that can accompany this period of time for all of our VCE students but in particular our Year 12s, we strongly encourage students to reach out to the Senior School Team if they feel they need additional support. We encourage students to

  • Maintain a Balanced Routine: Regular breaks, healthy meals, and adequate sleep are crucial.
  • Stay Active: Physical activity can help manage stress and improve concentration.
  • Seek Help: Whether it's academic support or personal advice, don’t hesitate to ask for help.

We encourage parents and guardians to continue their support by engaging in their child’s study routine and providing a conducive environment for study at home. Regular check-ins can also help in keeping students motivated and focused.

Warm regards,

The Senior School Team

Year 11 Snow Camp

Year 11 Outdoor Education students visited Mt. Buller this week to assess the health of the Alpine environment and enjoy recreational activities in the Outdoors. Students had a fantastic time and hit the slopes!

Year 11 Formal

After two terms of S Tasks, TAFE, SACs, Work Placement, and Exams… we were all ready to get dressed up and party. Spending a fantastic night with our friends, full of dancing, laughter, photos and awards was a great way to end the semester. Everyone looked so fabulous it was ridiculous... and the lemon meringue pie was banging. Thanks to everyone who helped organise the event and to the teachers for attending. Ms Polonidis won the teacher dancing contest by a mile!
