9P - Wildlife Exposure @ the BIOLAB

On Thursday 15th August, our Year 9 Purple students participated in the Wildlife Exposure program at BioLab. Together they explored the diversity of Australia’s animals that make up our unique ecosystems and learnt about the five kingdoms of life and the roles they play in creating healthy functional ecosystems.

Students examined a diverse cross selection of animals from the two major phylum’s of vertebrates and invertebrates and were presented with, and held, species found across varied Australian ecosystems such as deserts, forests, grasslands, wetlands, rivers and oceans. Judging by the students’ smiles, a great afternoon was had by all.

Ebony House

On Friday, August 23rd, Year 9 student Ebony had the opportunity to visit BioLab, located next door. This visit provided an exceptional experience for the students, allowing them to observe various animals and engage in activities involving these animals. They also had the chance to examine different animal skins through microscopes. It is indeed fortunate to have such an outstanding facility so conveniently close.
