Premier's Spirit of Anzac Prize
A huge congratulations to Year 11 student, Kylinda Zhang, who has been awarded the prestigious Premier's Spirit of Anzac Prize for 2024. Kylinda is one of only 12 students from across Victoria to receive this honour.
As part of this award, Kylinda will join a group of fellow prize-winners on a unique study tour of significant war memorials and commemorative sites in Turkey over the September holidays.
The tour will predominantly focus on the battlefields and key sites of Gallipoli as well as the historical marvels of Istanbul.
Kylinda impressed the judges with her creative short story, ‘Lost’, which explores the experiences of war veterans. Her work highlights the enduring impact of war and the importance of remembering the sacrifices of those who served.
The Premier's Spirit of Anzac Prize is a highly competitive program open to students in Years 9 to 12. It provides young Victorians with the opportunity to explore Australia’s wartime and peacekeeping history, connect with veterans, and reflect on the lasting legacy of the Anzac spirit.
We are incredibly proud of Kylinda’s achievement and her commitment to honouring our shared history.
Congratulations, Kylinda – we can’t wait to hear about your journey!
