Student Eye Care- Week 1 Term 3:
A reminder that the Student Eyecare Program will be running at the school in week 1 of Term 3, 2024. An optometrist will be onsite during school hours to provide students with a free comprehensive eye examination that is covered through Medicare Australia. 1 in 6 students have eye conditions that go undetected. This is due to the high level of visual demand on their eyes from books, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Every student will receive a full report about their eye health and a prescription will be provided if glasses are required. The prescription can be taken to any optical store to get the glasses made. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity.
Student Voice
Earlier this term, homegroup representatives were elected from each homegroup. Students had the opportunity to participate in 'Student Voice' training as homegroup representatives and members of the Student Representative Council. In this training, students were taught skills of leadership, public speaking, formulating ideas/giving constructive feedback and group facilitation skills. Students also helped to revamp the agenda structure for the whole school meeting. All students will have an opportunity next term to chair the whole school meeting and speak on behalf of their home groups.
"From my experience, I felt like it was a really good opportunity and experience to see what it was all about and share my ideas." Gita Haidari.
"I am one of the homegroup representatives and I enjoyed the training." Harley Noche.
