Laudato Si’ Week is the annual celebration that marks the publication of the encyclical Laudato Si’. 2024 marks nine years of Laudato Si’ and is celebrated from 19th - 26th May. This year’s theme is "Seeds of Hope", inspired by Laudate Deum which exhorts:
"There are no lasting changes without cultural changes [...] and there are no cultural changes without personal changes" (LD 70).
This Laudato Si’ Week invites the global church to contemplate and nurture seeds of hope for our “suffering planet” (LD 2). The theme is inspired by the symbol for the Season of Creation 2024, “first fruits.” Let us be seeds of hope in our lives and our world, rooted in faith and love.
National Sorry Day & National Reconciliation Week (NRW)
National Sorry Day (May 26) is a day when we pause to acknowledge and remember the strength of Stolen Generations of Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and reflect on how we can all assist in healing. It leads us into the Week of Prayer for Reconciliation and National Reconciliation Week (NRW). May 27-June 3 is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2024 is, Now More Than Ever. As a school community we will acknowledge these two events with prayer during this Friday’s whole school assembly and during class learning experiences next week.
2024 Sacramental Dates
2024 Year 6 Confirmation and Year 3 First Holy Communion Parent Sacramental Prayer Evening was held in the Church with Fr Patrick on Wednesday 22 May at 6pm. This Prayer Evening was for the parents of students who are making the sacraments this year in the Bulli Parish (not students).
2024 St Joseph's Bulli Sacramental dates for Confirmation are:
- Term 2 Week 8 Tuesday 18 June and Wednesday 19 June at 7pm.
Enrolment forms were distributed at the parent prayer evening. Please see the parish if you still require a form or click on the link below. All forms need to be returned to Fr Patrick or the Parish Office by Sunday 9 June.
2024 St Joseph's Bulli Sacramental dates for First Holy Communion are:
- Term 3 Week 7 - Sunday 8 September at 8:30am and 5:30pm
- Term 3 Week 9 - Sunday 22 September at 8:30am and 5:30pm
Online booking will be available at the end of Term 2. Anyone who didn’t complete an enrolment form in 2023 please contact the parish office.
Year 2 First Reconciliation (Term 4) will be communicated once finalised with Fr Patrick.
